B. Sebastian Reiche is Professor of Managing People in Organizations. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Melbourne, Australia.
Prof. Reiche’s research focuses on how to navigate the global work environment on issues ranging from different forms and experiences of global mobility, work design, global leadership, the role of language in international business, cultural identity, and empowerment in global organizations. He has published over 80 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters about how global professionals collaborate, lead and perform their work effectively, and his award-winning work appears in the leading scholarly outlets such as Academy of Management Discoveries, Academy of Management Journal, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and Organization Science, among many others.
He has been repeatedly honored by the prestigious Academy of Management, including with the International HRM Scholarly Research Award in two consecutive years, is recipient of the Journal of International Business Studies Silver Medal for his contributions to international business research, and has received repeated Research Excellence Awards from IESE Business School. Prof. Reiche's work has been widely covered by media outlets around the globe, including The Economist, The Financial Times, Forbes, BBC, Business Insider, Handelsblatt (Germany), Die Welt (Germany), WirtschaftsWoche (Germany), Expansión (Spain), La Vanguardia (Spain), and Você RH (Brazil).
Prof. Reiche is co-editor of Advances in Global Leadership and serves as member of several editorial boards, including Academy of Management Discoveries, Journal of Management, Journal of International Business Studies, and Personnel Psychology. He is lead editor of the bestselling textbooks International Human Resource Management (Sage, 6th edition) and Readings and Cases in International Human Resource Management (Routledge, 7th edition).
Prof. Reiche has consulted with companies such as SAP, Haier, Wacker, and Boehringer Ingelheim, and has designed, directed and delivered Custom Executive Education programs for a number of global companies, including Allied Irish Bank, Boehringer Ingelheim, Deloitte, Rijk Zwaan, Salesforce, and SAP. Prof. Reiche advises start-ups in the human capital space and regularly blogs on the topic of global work.
